3 unique methods to stand out online
You’re creating content online, swimming in a sea full of other creators.
What makes me different?
What’s my unique angle?
How do I stand out amongst the tribe?
Who am I and how am I unique?
Why will people want to follow me?
These are questions that have plagued my mind, causing anxiety and leaving me feeling stuck not knowing how to differentiate myself.
Until I figured out who I am, what my strengths and weakness are and what I’m passionate about.
Using this simple strategy, it helped me discover my self.
Let’s face it, if you don’t know who you are you’re going to have a tough time standing out from the rest of the crowd.
There are hundreds of others doing what you want do to online, whether it’s creating the same type of content or selling the same service.
That really doesn’t matter though, because once you understand these unique ways to stand out, people will want to follow you because of YOU.
They’ll want to work with you because of YOU.
Your personality is what will attract an audience.
Using these 3 methods will leave you:
Knowing who you are
What makes you unique
Feeling Confident in your uniqueness
What are they?
Put simply they are 3 exercises.
3 exercises that can be done serpately, each touching on a different aspect of your personality.
You can simply chose 1 or you can chose to do all of them. What ever resonates with you.
Doing all 3 is ideal
Exercise 1 — Psyche Journaling
As writers, let’s develop a journaling habit.
You’ve experienced things in life, and they shape who you are. By delving into your memory vault, you can uncover your unique qualities.
Begin a morning journal routine: stretch, drink water, and jot down your thoughts. This process will help unearth uncomfortable aspects of your shadow, but it’s crucial for finding your unique qualities.
Create a Google Doc titled “Who Am I?” and reflect on these questions daily for 15 minutes:
What conflicts have you faced?
Which traits have held you back?
What personality traits do you enjoy?
Can you describe your shadow or darker side?
Continue this daily until you exhaust your thoughts. This practice will enhance your awareness of your psyche.
You’ll begin to develop a strong point of difference.
Exercise 2 — What are your interests?
Your interests can be leveraged to differentiate you.
Begin a new Google Doc titled “Interests” and jot down everything you like, love, or are passionate about, including interests you’ve moved on from.
Be specific — rather than writing “Music,” list specific genres, artists, or instruments.
Here’s an example from my list:
Guitar
Singing
Drumming
Absurdism
The Witcher
Photography
Skateboarding
Belief philosophy
Game of Thrones
Avenged Sevenfold
The Legend of Zelda
Red Dead Redemption
Personality Psychology
Dungeons and Dragons
Regularly update this document as new interests emerge. Eventually, narrow down your list to three primary interests that you love most. Temporarily set aside the others.
For instance, I focus on writing, photography, and drumming — each enhances my content in unique ways. Writing is crucial for monetization, so it gets extra time.
Drumming helps me unwind and improve skills useful for content discussions.
Photography enhances my visual content on platforms like Twitter.
You’ll find ways to weave your interests into your content.

Exercise 3 — Personality Tests
Personality tests can pinpoint your inherent strengths and weaknesses.
However, their reliance on self-reporting can introduce bias, resulting in subjective outcomes.
Consider the following approach: take a personality test at www.16personalities.com, analyze your strengths and weaknesses, then ask friends and family to complete the same test about you.
This method allows you to compare various perceptions and gain a broader view of your personality.
For truly objective insights, try www.objectivepersonality.com.
It’s a paid service that requires membership to fully grasp personality typing, but it’s a valuable investment for understanding personality deeply.
Leveraging your strengths can help you understand what makes you different to other personality types.
Your weaknesses fuel for authentic content and gives you a growth area to focus on.
Build in public ;)
That’s it for this week!
Stay awesome.
